I had the opportunity to photograph an amazing car today. This cobra was spectacular! These are just cell phone pics but have more to come!

So the plan was to go to lock down a vacant parking garage and perfom a quick photoshoot. The IRS is a major part of the business square, but due to the government shutdown, they were closed. So I meet up with Ryan who was driving this beast. He follows me to the shoot location. I go over a brief plan and timeline with Ryan, and he heads out.

I go over the car. Checking every angle of this beast, while I enjoy my Del Taco breakfast. Creative juices are flowing, and I get my ideas for the shoot. Go time!

So I get all of my lighting setup, crank out some frames, adjusting, finessing, doodling…..you know….photography stuff! I finally get everything set and start walking to my camera and tripod to start the shoot when all of a sudden I hear someone walking up behind me asking,”Excuse me? What are you doing??” Great! Security has caught me!

I tried convincing him that I wouldn’t be there long, but he wouldn’t budge. I had to be gone, pronto. The problem was that it was just me and I had two vehicles to move. I really didn’t want to bother Ryan and have him come all the way back down to drive the car to another shoot location. I told Ryan the situation and he was cool with me taking the Cobra myself to finish the shoot elsewhere. AWESOME! I convinced the security guard to allow me to leave my vehicle parked in the garage while I went to “drop off the Cobra and hitch a ride back for my car”. He obliged and was even cool enough to allow me to leave the garage for free as it was paid parking. Saved me about $20 bucks!

I jump in the cobra with my gear, and start up this beast! Roush 427 V8 just rumbling the garage through its ceramic coated headers. I rev the gas a little to hear the V8 intimidate the security guard, and off I go. I get on the main street and head to the next shoot location. The wind through my hair, women glancing over at me, dudes giving me the thumbs up, it was the best 10 minute drive ever!!

I finally get to the second location and perform my magic. Passerby’s stopping by to praise the car, share their stories, and to drool all over the hood. This was definitely my favorite shoot to date!
